The position involves the testing of components and systems used in our wireless 3G/HSDPA/GSM/GPRS/EDGE platforms. A major Science and Technology organisation working mainly in the defence environment is currently expanding its safety Team. Candidates will ideally come from a defence/aerospace background but Systems Safety Engineers from other disciplines could be considered. The work will involve examine modifications of various pieces of equipment and there affect the overall safety of the aircraft.

Experiance:

The candidate will have a good understanding of Safety Requirement Specification, Safety Case Preparation, Independent Safety Auditing, Safety Plans, HAZOP studies, FMECA and ALARP

The successful candidate will have good customer facing skills and the ability to work within a team or individually.

This is a Consultants position so Technical expertise must also be matched with good interpersonal skills.

The candiate will have current MOD Security Clearance.

Provide education, advice and support in the production of all levels of requirements engineering documentation;

Contribute to the development of the DOORS requirements management tool;

Contribute to the administration of the DOORS requirements management tool;

Contribute to the responsibilities of the requirements management core team to provide a focal point for DOORS, to provide guidance and advice to staff experiencing problems with this software and to provide familiarisation training;

Contribute to the planning of the activities of the requirements management core team.

Combat Systems Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
Assessment of design change and enhancement eg functional assessment, subsystem interfaces and performance issues etc

Production of specifications

Undertaking review of 3rd party documentation

Analysis of test and trials data

Managing small to medium bids and projects taking responsibility for timely delivery of outputs within defined budgets.

Qualifications/skills:
