Role Title: Test Development Engineer
This role, reporting into the Platforms team is central to the development of our product range.
The position involves the testing of components and systems used in our wireless 3G/HSDPA/GSM/GPRS/EDGE platforms. This includes automation of radio frequency and baseband tests in order to validate and characterise the various devices making up the platforms. The role will involve closely working with other engineers in the Platforms, Wireless Systems and Silicon teams to define test requirements, specifications, methodologies and instruments.
The profile of the ideal candidate would have the following characteristics:
· Experience of digital, analog and/or RF testing
· Detailed experience in developing automated test procedure scripts
· Experience in GPIB and LAN based instrument programming
· Use of Agilent VEE, Labview or similar environments

We are looking to recruit a Six Sigma Project Leader to work within the Operations Group. This is a key role within the programmes, which operates across all manufacturing activity and sites (Chelmsford, Lincoln).

You will have a broad understanding of systems engineering as applied to defence systems acquisition, covering the majority of the following areas: The UK MOD Acquisition Management System ("Smart Acquisition"). User and System Requirements Documents and Requirements Management. Integrated Test, Evaluation and Acceptance and Progressive Acceptance. Through Life Management Plans Risk and Opportunity Management. Concept, Assessment and Demonstration Phases Technology Assessment and Technology Demonstrator Programmes. Network-Enabled Capability and system-of-systems integration. Operational Analysis. Systems Engineering Process Design. Systems Engineering Assurance. Trade-off Studies and the balancing of capability, cost and timescales. MOD structures, processes and stakeholder management UK defence industry prime contractors and their relationships. You will require significant (likely to be c.15 years) practical experience reflecting the areas described above. Along with a Degree in Engineering or Science from a reputable institution and evidence of CPD. An excellent communicator at all levels, with project management skills, using relevant tools e.g. MS Project, Prince2. This person will be highly organised and committed to achievement; continually improving the quality of processes and systems. Detailed knowledge of DWDM, SONET/SDH and Multi protocol switches (IP included) is required along with a fundamental understanding of carrier and ISP grade telecom networks and products. Technical Manager ( Systems) - exciting opportunity to join this leader in the defence market To be responsible for leading teams of multidisciplinary engineers performing systems engineering activities on allocated projects across the full project lifecycle. This will include requirements capture, systems analysis and design, interface design and control, systems test planning, verification, validation, acceptance testing and delivery. You will be representing the company at senior levels and with potentional customers. You will have detailed knowledge of the full development lifecycle, experience in system analysis, design, development and/or test activities, experience in leading teams, to deliver gainst cost and schedule and quality, working to processes and procedures, working to a customer-facing role, experience contributing to bids & proposals. Minimum of 8 years experience in the defence industry across the full development lifecycle on SW intensive programmes in a senior systems or software engineering role. BSc/MSc in relavant engineering discipline. Awareness of CMMI (Level 3 or higher), DOORS, OOA/D/UML, Mil Std 498 or similar. You will beleading a team at at present and be sucessful in insuring quality and timely delivery. Quick learner, capable of assimilating large quantities of technical data quickly. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
