The position involves the testing of components and systems used in our wireless 3G/HSDPA/GSM/GPRS/EDGE platforms. This includes automation of radio frequency and baseband tests in order to validate and characterise the various devices making up the platforms. The role will involve closely working with other engineers in the Platforms, Wireless Systems and Silicon teams to define test requirements, specifications, methodologies and instruments.

Key Responsibility Areas
· Develop Systems Engineering Management Plans and carry out tasks defined, through demonstrable knowledge and experience of the Engineering Lifecycle, standards on Systems Engineering and the Smart Acquisition Process.
· Develop an understanding of customers requirements for new or improved capability, and work with all stakeholders to define the requirements for such a capability.
· Support the implementation, test, trials, acceptance and through life support processes for new and improved system solutions developed in response to capability requirements

The Candidate
· Able to show tangible successes in the application of Systems Engineering skills to major projects, showing appreciation of wider context of system solutions, including issues of cost, risk, quality, capability and programme.
· Use of standard MS Office applications including MS Project
· Use of Requirements Management Tools such as DOORS
· Use of Systems Engineering Support Environment tools such as CRADLE
· Appreciation of the application of UML or other structured/object oriented specification languages.
· Awareness of CMMi/DoDAF/MoDAF
· Customer Focus – able to communicate and relate to customer needs
