SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

Excellent opening for an experienced Supplier development engineer

You will manage Supplier Development and Improvement programme to ensure suppliers systems meet the criteria for supply to the business.  Actively develop suppliers to ensure they continue to adopt complementary systems and processes to support on going business requirements

Key Responsibilities
· Establish and maintain an audit programme for all production and development suppliers
· Support required development activity to migrate NPI suppliers to support the production stage of products.
· Maintain the required activity and appropriate records of supplier approval, audit, visit, and performance, to ensure that we satisfy requirements of Company, Customer and regulatory requirements.
· Manage supplier returns process including transactions within the Business System
· Manage database of Supplier Corrective Action Requests ensuring adequate investigation with effective corrective, preventive and close out action.  Issue trend reports as appropriate.
· Be active in the external supply chain, at supplier premises, detailing development action and reporting progress against agreed actions and timescale.
· Issue regular Supplier Performance Reports

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

· HNC in engineering discipline
· Experience in a manufacturing environment
· Commercially astute
· Confident and professional manner in dealing with suppliers
· History of 'hands-on' supplier audit experience
· Demonstrable experience and success in previous role
· Task performance driven
· A strong individual capable of working on own initiative whilst being a good team player

Desirable

· BSI Lead Auditor/IRCA registered, or similar
· Green Belt/6 Sigma Training
· Business/Commercial audit experience
