Systems Engineer (Defence, Radar, Marine)
A leading international organisation are looking for an ILS / Systems Engineer to join a small team of Systems Engineers working on the specification, design, testing and commissioning of radar and navigation equipment supplied to naval customers.
The successful candidate will be required to lead the department in all ILS activities excluding training and technical publications. This will primarily involve all aspects of ARM and the production and maintenance of detailed and technically accurate ILS documentation for project and bid support work.
Secondary activities will include the specification and system design of radar and navigation equipment at the bid stage, generation and maintenance of product specifications, approval testing, project work and providing assistance during the testing and commissioning phases of projects when required.
The successful candidate is likely to be a Systems Engineer / ILS Engineer ideally (but not necessarily) with some of the following experience
· Radar environment
· Knowledge of relevant IEC, MIL, NES and BS standards candidates
· Knowledge of the principles of modern navigation/surveillance radars and associated electronic navigation systems and must be prepared to gain familiarity with the company’s range of products.
The successful applicant will be computer literate with a high standard of written English, capable of compiling accurate, detailed and well presented technical proposals, compliance matrixes and specifications.
Applicants will be expected to show motivation and initiative in planning their own activities so as to achieve timely and effective results with little supervision. As this is a customer-facing role, a confident manner is required, with the ability to communicate clearly within the company at all levels and with customers whose first language may not be English.
