The successful candidate will contribute at a team level to the development of middleware software as part of the VoIP framework operating on the ECCG ComStruct blade boards. The candidate will be responsible for the specification, design, and verification of key software components either individually or part of a team.

IPMI/Firmware/Middleware : contribute at a team level to the development of application software as part of the VoIP framework operating on the MCG ComStruct blade boards. The candidate will be responsible for the specification, design, and verification of key software components either individually or part of a team.
System Software Integration : Responsible for system level integration of IPMI/Firmware/Middleware that may be originate from multiple internal and external sources. Work with internal and external development teams to resolve compatibility and integration issues.
Software Test : Assisting with the development of system software test routines to insure products operate as intended. Work with customers to understand the end use application. Work test team to develop system software test requirements, plans, and specifications. Guide, direct, and oversee internal and external test teams performing the system test.
Support internal business, sales, and marketing - market intelligence, business case development, technology roadmaps, and assistance with RFQ/SOW/etc.
This position is suitable for an experienced engineer in a fast paced product development group which produces a wide range of embedded computing equipment for the telecommunications, medical, industrial control industry. Responsible for various phases of product development from concept to release such as system integration, product specs and documentation, new product introduction, design, and test engineering. Will be part of a cross functional team and work with technical individuals, other client groups, and 3rd party vendors
HND/Degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, or related discipline required. Specific technical skills are listed below that are required or desired:
a. Experience with MIB development using an SNMP agent/IPMI environment (required).
b. Experience with C programming language, IA Architecture, device drivers, RTOS software environment, VoIP based product, PCI and PCI Express bus. (required)
c. Experience of integration and testing of Telecoms protocols including ISDN, V5, ATM (optional).
d. Knowledgeable about system level integration issues and able to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software compatibility problems for Telecoms. (required)
e. Knowledgeable about system test and able to guide, direct, and oversee test teams. (optional)
f. Software Development to TL9000 processes Knowledge of the TL9000 process. (required)
g. Source code control using ClearCase, defect tracking using ClearQuest. An advantage as the team is moving over to these tools but not essential as training will be provided. (optional)
Candidates need to be able to work independently, be self motivated/disciplined, and desire to excel in their field. Must be able to handle a number of simultaneous tasks of varying complexity and completeness. Requires sound analytical thinking, technical writing, good verbal communication, and listening skills.
