Naval Safety Engineer (Defence)

A leading defence client requires 2 Safety Engineers with around 2 years experience to produce documentary evidence to justify the safety claims made for new & in service Combat System equipment.

Key Responsibility Areas

·Responsible for progressing safety risk reduction actions, conducting safety hazard identification sessions and the review and audit of sub-contractor safety activities.
·Liaison with Engineering and Project disciplines within the client, its supply chain and customers is required.
·To assist in the development and maintenance of a Safety Culture within the project.
·To provide Safety Engineering expertise and guidance within the Combat Systems Group.
·Attendance at meetings and discussions and prepare inputs to Safety Case Acceptance activities in pursuance of delegated activities.
·To provide timely advice to members of the Project when requested.

Additional Information

The candidate will work within a small team under the guidance of the Combat System Safety Manager performing allocated tasks. A high degree of self-motivation and initiative are required to ensure timescale and cost targets are met.

Any experience of naval systems would be of benefit. However training may be considered to develop the necessary domain knowledge.
