Description:My client is currently looking for a Telecoms Development Support Engineer to join their technical team based in Sunbury on Thames. It will be your responsibility to bridge the gap between customer support and development where you will be a point of contact for customer representatives to assist in fixing technical problems as and when they arise. This role requires a high level of technical expertise combined with adaptable attitude and the ability to be both resourceful and pragmatic. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years telecoms carrier grade switching experience (Lucent, Ericsson, DMS) as well as SS7 ISUP, ISDN and SIP protocol knowledge. The role is based in my client`s development labs consisting mainly of fault diagnosis, analysis of fault logs, re-creation of problems reported and testing of fault corrections in the lab. A previous background in software development/maintenance as well as technical support for installation, configuration/data fill and testing of telecoms switches, data networks, ACD, IVR and call centre applications will be considered a distinct advantage. Applicants should have a degree in Software Engineering (or related discipline) coupled with at least five years experience in the areas of software development and technical support within the telecommunications or data networking/IT industry.
