Description: Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Extensive experience and knowledge of electrical power equipment in a utility, test instrument or similar environment (Please state which)
Prior management of both internal staff and of outside software contractors
Liaison with engineers and sales staff, including at multiple locations
Hands on ability to write and manage development of applications software
Commercial acumen including knowledge of software licensing and pricing methods
Ability and experience of working with engineering managers to define and create common software for existing and future instruments including flexible interfaces for users and third party databases
Ability and experience of providing transitions for existing instrument software packages to the common system
Experience of working with applications engineers, sales staff and customers to define and develop user report application packages
Experience of establishing and managing worldwide instrument software budgets
Experience of maximising Group profit from instrument software, including directing delivery mechanisms, pricing, marketing and customer applications cost management
Frequent travel is required.
