Manufacturing Planning Manager
The vacancy exists for a Manufacturing Planning Manager.
Contract 3-6 mths

The company has been undertaking a review of its manufacturing operations and the effectiveness of the supply chain and material management functions in conjunction with lean manufacturing / enterprise initiatives. The prime objective of this role is to improve overall business and financial performance in line with most other "world class" manufacturing companies.
To manage the Materials Department with responsibility for Materials Management, Materials Control, BIDS Management and Spare and Repairs.
Examine Customer Service Levels ie. Back orders, on time in full delivery performance and implement processes to deliver RAPID improvements in these CSL's Achieve Departmental Objectives and KPI's.
Establish, maintain and then improve the Materials data accuracy within business systems.
Review then implement a formal MPS process with and integrated SOP / MPS function Establish, maintain and then improve capacity planning tools, advise on manpower availability and be aware of skills matrixes to minimise impact of skills shortages.
Implement a culture of daily focus and thinking by planning for daily achievement.
Review then implement a formal Inventory planning and control process in order to improve stock turns and inventory management controls.
Establish the role as the focal point for Project BID Review activities with regard to Materials management.
Manage the purchasing function for existing contracts to ensure that all materials are delivered to meet production and forecasted requirements. Strive to achieve cost reductions.
Be a leading player in terms of continuous improvement and lean implementation across the whole of the business.
Recruit, train and develop the departmental personnel.
Assess staff performance annually and set objectives aligned to business objectives.
Education and Experience
Graduate calibre manufacturing professional with emphasis on the supply chain
5yrs manufacturing and supply chain experience in a customer focussed medium volume manufacturing environment
Strong experience of MRP` / ERP
