| Boston Scientific hve a vacancy for an Extrusion Engineer
Key Responsibilities: Typical project related responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:- Provide Technical Leadership to a number of Engineers and technicians and participate in the following activities: Material research and selection Vendor searches and ongoing contact Equipment/tooling design and improvements Production of prototype samples and development of final product specifications. Documentation, preliminary and manufacturing Writing and carrying out validations / qualifications and technical reports and assessments. Continued quality improvement including use of statistical tools to optimise the extrusion process. Liaise with other relevant functions with regard to ongoing development of current processes and future development needs. Develop and maintain extrusion expertise in Galway site. Responsible for commissioning any new extrusion technology, ramping up production, undertaking validations, continuous process improvement and identifying potential development opportunities in the extrusion technology field. Evaluates in conjunction with EHS new equipment/processes/chemicals for environmental impact/effect to eliminate or lessen such impacts/effects. Skills, Experience & Qualifications: Polymer Engineering Degree or equivalent. 5 years industry experience, with broad experience of extrusion technology. Ability to develop highly capable manufacturing process from initial R&D concepts and prototypes. Experience of working within an FDA/ISO regulated medical device manufacturing environment is desirable. Excellent communication skills. Knowledge of applied statistical techniques Knowledge of material testing and characterisation would be advantageous.
